Eye Makeup for Brown Eyes

Brown is the most common and most versatile eye color since virtually every eyeshadow color works best for brown eyes. The only determining factor of whether some color will go well with brown eyes is depth of the color of your eyes—are they medium brown, deep brown or lighter ones? The best eyeliner color for brown eyes is brown and black for day and night time events respectively.

Deep Brown Eyes

Dark brown eyes look overwhelming with medium to dark shades of eyeshadow. Play around with charcoal gray, forest green or plum eyeshadow or let your gorgeous deep brown eyes tell a story with browns, mauves, gold and bronze shades. For picking off eyeliner, look into the flecks of lighter color in your eyes and use that hue to select the right eyeliner color.

Deep Brown Eyes

Medium Brown Eyes

You are really lucky if you’ve medium brown eyes as you can try out almost any eye makeup color to maximize your pretty features. You can try out violet, bronze, purple or green eyeshadows for a subtle daytime look or create a striking combo of neutral eyeshadow and metallic eyeliner in bronze or copper for a more glamorous nighttime look.

Medium Brown Eyes

Light-Brown Eyes

When you’ve light brown eyes, you should stay from black eyeliner; resort to dark brown or any other colored eyeliner instead. Apply a neutral color onto the lids and a darker nuance of same color in the eye fold.

Light-Brown Eyes

Complete the look with gold or green eyeliner.
